BorderlessP2P is a person-to-person money transfer service from SUMA Federal Credit Union, powered by BankSocial Digital Wallet.

It offers a fast, secure, and easy way to send money to friends, family, and others you trust—even if they bank elsewhere, whether internationally or in the U.S.
All you need is the recipient’s email address or mobile number in an international format. Using your SUMA FCU digital banking app, the money is sent directly from your SUMA checking account to a virtual debit card, typically within minutes.¹

The recipient can:

  • Use the virtual debit card for online purchases, or
  • Add it to their mobile wallet² for everyday spending.

No bank account or card numbers are exchanged, keeping your information private and secure.

You can send or receive money with BorderlessP2P by following a few simple steps.

To Send Money:

  1. Log in to the SUMA FCU Mobile App or Online Banking.
  2. Select the “BorderlessP2P” dashboard tile.
  3. Click “View More Activity & Send Money.”
  4. Tap the “Send +” button to add a new recipient or select an existing contact.
  5. For new recipients, enter their email address and mobile number in international format.
  6. Choose your checking account from the drop-down list, enter the amount, and tap “Confirm.”

The recipient will receive an email or text with a secure link. If it’s their first time using BorderlessP2P, they will need to:

  • Accept the terms and conditions
  • Complete a one-time ID verification, including a photo of a government-issued ID and a liveness-detection selfie

After this initial setup, you can send and receive money with them instantly. Future transfers will not require ID verification again.
Money is typically available to the recipient within minutes if they are already enrolled with BankSocial Digital Wallet.

To Receive Money:

If you're already enrolled, just provide the sender with your email address and mobile number in international format. No further action is needed—the money will be sent directly to your BankSocial Digital Wallet, usually within minutes.

If You’re Not Yet Enrolled and Someone Sends You Money:

  1. Click the link in the email or text notification you received.
  2. Register for BankSocial Digital Wallet.
  3. Follow the instructions to complete enrollment and receive your funds.

⚠️Important: Be sure to enroll using the same email address or mobile number where you received the payment notification. This ensures your money is delivered correctly.

Keeping your money and information safe is a top priority for SUMA FCU. When you use BorderlessP2P within our mobile app or online banking, your information is protected with the same technology we use to keep your SUMA FCU account safe.
BorderlessP2P is designed for sending money to people you know and trust—like family, friends, and close contacts.

Because funds are sent instantly from your SUMA FCU checking account to the recipient’s BankSocial Digital Wallet as a virtual debit card, you should only use BorderlessP2P with trusted individuals.

Do not use BorderlessP2P for purchases from strangers, online sales, bidding sites, or anyone you don’t know personally. These transactions are considered high-risk, similar to handing over cash.

⚠️ Important: BorderlessP2P and BankSocial do not provide payment protection for authorized transfers. If you don’t receive an item, or it’s not what you expected, you won’t be able to get your money back.

BorderlessP2P is not intended for business use, but some small businesses may choose to accept payments through it.


You can ask your favorite small business if they accept payments to their BankSocial Digital Wallet. If they do, you can send money directly from your SUMA FCU Mobile App or Online Banking using their email and mobile number in international format.

No. SUMA FCU BorderlessP2P and BankSocial do not offer purchase protection for any payments made through the service.

This means if you don’t receive what you paid for—or the item isn’t as described—you won’t be able to recover your funds.

To stay protected:
  • Only send money to people or businesses you trust
  • Always double-check that you’ve entered the correct email address and mobile number (in international format)

Yes, SUMA FCU BorderlessP2P service has been designed to be used internationally and domestically. The sender and recipient’s bank or credit union accounts may be based in the U.S. and abroad. The recipient receives their money to their BankSocial-SUMA FCU co-branded digital wallet in a form of a virtual debit card that may be used for online purchases or pushed to a digital wallet.

You can only cancel a payment if the recipient hasn’t enrolled with the BankSocial Digital Wallet yet.

To check if the payment is still pending:
  1. Go to your Activity page.
  2. Select the payment.
  3. If available, tap “Cancel This Payment.” If that option doesn’t appear, the payment may already be complete. Please contact our Member Support Team at 914-220-4900 for help.

⚠️ If the recipient has already enrolled, the money is instantly delivered to their BankSocial Digital Wallet and cannot be canceled or reversed.

That’s why it’s critical to:
  • Double-check the recipient’s email and mobile number
  • Only send money to people you trust

If you sent money to the wrong person, call us immediately at 914-220-4900 so we can assist you.

Yes. The fees depend on the transaction amount and are as follows:

a.    SUMA FCU charges fees to use BorderlessP2P in the SUMA FCU Mobile app or online banking.

Your mobile carrier’s messaging and data rates may apply. 

b.    SUMA FCU member support cannot stop or cancel a BorderlessP2P transaction that is still pending because the recipient hasn’t yet enrolled. The sender must stop or cancel such transactions themselves via BorderlessP2P widget in SUMA FCU Mobile app or in online banking. If the recipient doesn’t enroll with BankSocial within 5 days, the payment will naturally expire, the funds will be returned to your account and no fees will be assessed.

There are no limits to the amount of money you can receive to your SUMA-branded BankSocial digital wallet. However, remember that the person sending you money will most likely have limits set by their own financial institution on the amount of money they can send you.

That’s okay—your recipient doesn’t need to be with a participating bank or credit union to receive money from you.

They can still accept your payment by downloading the BankSocial app (available on iOS and Android) and enrolling with BankSocial Digital Wallet.


Here’s how it works:
●    When you send money with SUMA FCU BorderlessP2P, your recipient will get a secure link via email or text.

●    They’ll follow that link to enroll, providing:

○    A government-issued photo ID

○    Their email address and mobile number

Once enrolled, they’ll receive the funds directly into their BankSocial Digital Wallet—even if their financial institution doesn’t offer this service.
